Houston We Have a Problem
I’m going to have to breakdown
and go to the doctor. Booo! My ankle has been hurting pretty bad after I
jog the past week and a half. I thought
the new running shoes that I bought were going to really help out. No such luck.
While I’m actually jogging my ankle feels ok so I think the shoes have helped a little but they are not
the full on fix that I was hoping for. It’s
after I get done when my ankle feels like it’s going to explode. The pain is about an 8/9 on the pain
scale. Usually it will go away after
about 30 minutes but today it lasted for over an hour and it's still not back to normal. I don’t know what else to do but go to a
doctor. Cross your fingers that I won’t
have to stop running while whatever is wrong with it heals. I’m so worried that I will lose my little
stamina that I have built up and have to start over. I’ll keep you posted.

Five Fun Topics for Friday
Where was I 5 years ago
- Only had been in Colorado for a few months
- Living with my mom
- Unemployed
- Depressed
- Worried about the future
5 Things I can’t leave the house without
- Pocket Cross – I have had since I was 14. I put it on my keys so it’s always with me
- Cell phone
- Touch up powder
- Lip gloss
- Little tube of hand cream
5 Songs that get me jogging and shaking my booty on the treadmill
- Single Ladies – Beyonce
- What You Need – INXS
- Black Cat – Janet Jackson
- S&M – Rihanna
- Back to the Hotel – N2Deep – This is my dork out song Check out this post if you don’t know what I’m talking aboutJ
5 Fears
- Going to jail for something that I didn’t do – I saw a movie when I was a kid about that happening and ever since then that has been a fear of mine. I'd never make it in jail, I would get traded for cigarettes to be someones bitch
- Being kidnapped – I don’t think I’m all that and on the top of the list for some psycho to grab but remember Silence of the Lambs and “put the lotion on”??? Yikes – the PC way to say it is that guy was into women with "curves". I don’t want to end up as a lamp shade or something. Also remember that the fastest I can jog is at 4.2mph I could never out run anyone.
- Bees – Ugh I absolutely hate bees. I mean you are outside (and as you know that is rare for me) enjoying yourself and BUZZZZ a stupid bee right in your face ready to kill. You know one of the reasons that I did not get married outside was because all I kept thinking is that I would be holding a giant bouquet of bee food. I have read that if the world didn’t have bees then all life would die off in a matter of a couple of years. Really?!? I’m game for trying it out
- Any scary or sort of scary or a little bit scary movie or TV show. Let me put this in perspective….when that show Unsolved Mysteries was on TV back in the 80’s/90’s I could not watch it. It freaked me out so bad that I had to sleep with the lights on. When I was in 7th grade my cousins talked me into watching Nightmare on Elm Street. I was so scared that I stayed awake totally frozen for the entire night. The thought of that movie still scares me.
- Going into the basement when it’s dark or actually any place that’s dark– ok so yes I sound like I’m 5 but the basement in particular is a scary place when it’s dark. I remember when I was a kid and we had crawl spaces down there. Isn’t that where all the crazy psycho killers put dead people?? To this day – and I really can’t believe that I am going to admit this – I have to hum the Smurf theme song when I start going into a dark place and can’t get to the light switch quick enough. I have done this since the 80’s when that cartoon came out.
5 Things that are rocking my face off this week
- Baked Chicken Lean Cuisine – to me this is like a teeny tiny taste of thanksgiving- but the trick is that you have to take it out of the plastic tray after you cook it and mush it all togetherJ Trust me its awesome
- Siri – I upgraded to iPhone 5 this past week. My old phone did not have Siri and was on its last leg. Siri rocks my face off. It really is like having an assistant. I’ve been making that girl work!
- New running shoes** - I am putting an asterisk by them because I haven’t tried them out yet. I got them after work today. Today is the one day that I take off from running so I’ll let you know how they are next time I post. My left ankle aches so bad after I run that I want to cry. My brother is a runner and he suggested that I get new shoes. Good ones – not like walk into Kohls and get some pink Nike’s like the ones I currently have. But that meant that I had to overcome the extra super intimidation factor that I had about going into a running store. I figured that the people working there would take one look at me and laugh me out of the store. But the lady that helped me was the bomb and so sweet! But let me tell you it's no joke in that store. You don’t just walk in and buy some shoes. She made me run on a treadmill so she could video tape my feet to determine the best shoe. I was not prepared for this – I was wearing a dress today but I sucked it up and ran in a dress with people watching me. I almost died of embarrassment. But it was worth it. This video showed why my ankle is killing me. I rotate my ankle inward after I land on my foot. Ouchy! The sales lady had me try on 5 different pairs of shoes and after finding one that she thought would help she had me run again. This time the video showed that my ankles remained straight. Super Cool!
- Sweet tea Mio – Love it! I drink a gallon of water a day thanks to Mio!!
- Pinterest – I heart Pinterest – you can find so many cool things/ideas/recipes/books/ on this site.

Weigh Day Wednesday
HowdyJ It’s Weigh Day Wednesday. I am happy to report that I lost 1.8 this week. I was talking to the hubbs about how slow this weight was coming off and he says “well you’re getting”…..um getting what?!?! He swears that he wasn’t going to say “Old” but he was back peddling all over the place. Says he couldn’t think of what he was going to say – ya right! The truth of the matter is I am getting older and this will be a slower process but I’m cool with that. Slow and steady wins the race – right? I hope so. I have NEVER in my life worked this hard to lose weight. My MO is usually to try, and I stress the work try, to eat well. All the while thinking of how I can cheat. Or I exercise but eat like crap. This time I am finally doing both at the same time. No more pills, cabbage soup, or no carb diets for me. I am learning how to be a normal person that eats normal portions. Go figure.
Update on C25K – I got to the 3rd workout this week which is to run 20 minutes straight – no walking in between like all the previous weeks. I was convinced that I wouldn’t be able to do it – so much so that I freaked myself out and was actually anxious about it. I got on the treadmill this morning and said to myself that if I couldn’t get through it that would be ok but at least try it out and see how long I could go for. I had the iPod loaded up with my favorite songs and a little bit of gangster rap (one more fun fact about me – I like old school gangster rap….Ice Cube, NWA, and Too Short just to name a few). Ha – bet you would have never guessed. Anywho I start jogging and it’s not that bad and I was trying so hard not to look at the clock. I finally gave in and took a quick look and I had been running for 10 minutes. I was thinking that I just might be able to do this. But then by the time I got to 12 minutes I wished for an earthquake, fire, black plague, anything that would get me off that treadmill. But I kept going. This is going to sound corny but all the encouraging comments and messages you have sent me were going through my head and that pushed me to do that last 8 minutes. I was so happy when I realized that I had just jogged non-stop for 20 minutes that tears welled up in my eyes – I warned you early on in this blog that I am sappy. 6 weeks ago I could barely jog for a minute without wanting to stop. Now check me out! I do have to admit that I am a very slow jogger – I jog at 4.2 so that is not going to win me any gold medals – well maybe for slowest runner ever – but as my friend Tamara says – No matter how slow you go you are still lapping everyone on the couch! So trueJ
Update on calorie counting – I’m still counting and staying within my range for the day but I’ve been hungry like the wolf lately and I’m not talking about the Duran Duran song. You know when you see a movie and there is a bear standing up roaring and growling with its teeth exposed? That's how I’ve been feeling around lunch time and I eat breakfast! Someone at work cut in front of me in the microwave line a couple of days ago and then proceeded to heat up their food for 7 minutes. I wanted to eat their face off!!

It's Been a While
There was a problem this weekend with this website and it wouldn’t let me postL so I have a lot to catch you up on:
- Weekend was greatJ Too short but that is typical. Joe and I had some family over this weekend for a big spaghetti dinner. Spaghetti is like my super krypotine. I wasn’t really stoked about making it – not because I don’t like to, I mean come on I’m Italian making sauce and meatballs is basically taught at age 3. I felt like I couldn’t be trusted around it. But I’m happy to report that I did goodJ I made myself some Smart Taste pasta that has more fiber in it and only had a cup and a half. I tracked everything – even my glass of wine. My sister (evil temptress) brought a tiramisu cake – holy hell – I didn’t even know that existed. But I had 3 bites and gave the rest of my piece to Joe. My willpower is getting stronger and I’m stoked. Pic from Sat
- I’m on week 5 of C25K. Let me tell you it’s no joke this week. I'm honestly not sure if I will be able to get through it. This week is the first one where the workouts are all different. Up until now the program has you do the same one all week then move up to the next one. This week they start you off jogging 5 min then walk 3 then repeat twice. That one was actually not that bad at all. Then the next one is the one that I did today which is jog for 8 minutes and walk for 5 min repeat once. That was a challenge. I did it but I wanted to barf – just like you see on Biggest Loser when a new contestant has worked out for like 8 hours straight and they finally have all they can take and puke. That was what I felt like at the end of the second 8 minute jog. I will do that workout again tomorrow to keep up with my schedule. But then there is the workout that I am supposed to do Wednesday. Um…..gulp….after the 5 min warm up walk you are supposed to jog 20 min straight. What the hell happened to adding a couple minutes every week?? I am perplexed that after jogging 8 minutes that all of a sudden 20 is the next logical step. That is a crap sandwich. Oh well. I will try it. Every week so far I have thought that I wouldn’t be able to do it and I have. Maybe this one will be the same – fingers crossed.

- I switched to jogging in the mornings instead of after work. On the weekends as soon as I get up I hit the treadmill and usually have an easier time getting through the run then I do when I workout after work. So today was the first day of that. It wasn’t easy getting up and out of bed at 5:00am but it was so nice to just come home and chill. I am catching up on season 1 of Revenge – woo hoo!! Side note that show is awesome. If you don’t watch it go to Netflix sign up for streaming service and watch all 20 some episodes until your eyes bleed - I'll wait while you sign up...tick tock tick tock. Trust me you don’t want to wait for the DVD’s to come in the mail!! It is that good. Then watch season 1 of Scandal – even better than Revenge! ABC feel free to send me a check for that glowing endorsement.
- I got a new treadmill – well it was used but new to me. As you know my old treadmill had seen better days. It wouldn’t maintain a constant speedL I was looking on Craigs List and I see this postings from one of our neighbors selling theirs and its basically brand new. We got it for $150 score! Even has an iPod dock and speakers built in – double score! Here are some pics – ignore dungeon like basement.

Weigh Day and a Recipe
I’m happy to report that I lost
2.4 pounds this week. I was hoping that
it would be a bit more but I’m not going to act like that size zero girl in front of you at Starbucks that is complaining that she is soooo fat J and orders a skinny latte. Meanwhile you are contemplating force feeding her the whip cream that you just ordered on your frapaccino. On a side note anyone besides me feel like Godzilla in these situations? Like the ratio between them and me is so out of whack that Godzilla is the only appropriate comparison. Anyways back to weigh day. Since I started exercising which was Labor Day weekend I have lost
4.4. I’m really pushing for 10 total for
the month so that means I have to kick it up a notch. I have been living on Lean Cuisine’s for
lunch and dinner but they are full of carbs.
I think that I need to eat more grilled meats and veggies. I can do that and frankly I need a break from
the frozen meals. How can there be a
zillion different entrée’s but they all taste the same after a while??
I also wanted to say THANK YOU for all of your supportive comments. I read them all and they really help me get through my runs - especially today!
Now on to the good stuff – a totally delicious recipe for Cobbler – yes I said Cobbler. Its from Pinterest. Tamara and I both pinned it and she made it last week and told me that I had to try it. I'm so glad that I did. Its so yum! And its hubbs approved - Joe thought it rocked!
Here’s what you will need:
Sprinkle the cake mix on top of the fruit
Pour soda over the top – DO NOT MIX
Pop in oven and bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown on top
A 1/2 cup (a little goes a long way) I figured is approximately 80 calories

Boa Constrictors, Sausge Casing, and Bear Hugs Oh My!
I’m a little down in the dumps
today. Everything was fine until my jog
this afternoon. But let me back up to
last week. My old sports bra died last week - one of the hooks snapped off. As soon as it broke I did a bunch of research and found one that holds on to those things with a vice grip. According to all of the reviews it’s like you don’t even have tata’s. But I had to order it so I put the old one on life support and used it with only 2 hooks. Probably not a good idea but I wear
this compression tank top thingy over my bra/under my shirt when I run to provide extra support for the breasticles
and to keep my flab from slapping me in the face. I’ll give you a minute to go get your brain
bleach to remove that visual from your head.
The bra came today and I was sooo happy! I rip it out of the package like a kid on Christmas
morning. Start to put it on and…um….wait…um…what
the hell?!?! It’s like you have to be a
performer in Cirque du Soleil to get into this thing or a nija. There is the regular hooky things in the back
but you still have to put it over your head to get it on cause part of it does
not come undone. After a bunch of “eff this
and eff that’s” I finally get it on. Problem
is that it seems really small which is weird cause it’s the same size as all my
other bras. Basically I look like a
giant sausage stuffed into a bra like sausage casing. Sigh. But
the girls are not moving and I mean NOT moving even with the jump test. So I decide to wear it. I even get the lame idea in my head that now
that I don’t have to worry about extra support for the boobies and jello like flab and decide to ditch the compression
tank thingy. What a bad idea. I start to jog and its going ok except that
my workout leggings are staring to slip down and not just a little I am now
sporting plumbers crack. The compression tank was holding them up in my previous workouts. I had no idea. Ugh. Sigh. It
wouldn’t be so bad except my treadmill does not have any cup holders or cubbies
of any kind so I have to hold my phone so I can listen to music and hear the C25k
app tell me when it’s time to walk/run. I don’t know what the workouts are anymore cause I don’t
write them down so I need my phone so I can use the app. I just wait for the
trainer lady to tell me what to do. The
floor is concrete so it’s not like I can drop my phone on the floor and I didn’t
want to stop to put phone my phone down plus without knowing what the workout
is that wouldn’t work either. So I try
to keep adjusting my pants one handed.
Giant Sigh. Finally I get to the
walk segment and pull my pants up to my nose – straight up nerd style but that doesn't help at all. In the mean time the bra feels like it’s a
boa constrictor. Holy crap! It’s beyond tight! But I still don’t want to stop and decide to
keep going. Oh and on top of all that my
treadmill has been on the fritz lately.
Of course it decided that this would be a great time to mess with
me. For some reason the speed will not
stay consistent during the jogging segments. It will jump anywhere from 4.2 down to 2.8
and then back up to 5+. It jumps every 2-3 seconds. So my bra is giving me a bear hug, my pants
are practically down to my knees, my stomach is jiggling like a bowl full of jello, and I’m doing involuntary interval training. It was a sight to see. Again I will pause while you go get brain
bleach. I finished the my workout but I
seriously wanted to lose my mind by the end.
Needless to say I did not get the runners high after. On a positive note - not sure there is one - I didn't quit. Eff Monday's.

Cool Apps and an Update
Hey peepsJ Happy Sunday. I thought I’d give you an update of my
progress and share with you some cool apps that a couple of friends let me know about. I started week 4 of C25K yesterday. Wow!
The program really makes you step up your game this week. I do one level a week but instead of doing it
3 times a week I am doing it 6. Trust me
I need all the extra practice. I haven’t
got burned out yet so I’m going with it.
I quit Weight Watchers. I think it’s
a great program but I need something that makes me track everything that goes into my mouth. I wouldn't track zero point foods and usually nothing that was one point. I would just try to remember that I had eaten that one point. Um....see how well that worked out?!? So I am now counting calories. There is a great website called My FitnessPal that tracks everything for you. You
can do it online but they have an app and it makes it super easy to track all
of your food, water, and exercise. It
even has a scanner so all you have to do is scan the UPC code with your phone
and viola it zaps the calories into your tracker. So far EVERYTHING that I've tracked has been in their database, even restaurants. And the best part its free!!!! Free to join the website, free app, and no monthly fees. Thanks Jovelle for the suggesting this appJ If you decide to join friend me and we can cheer each other on! My user name is bamlv.
The next app is the C25K app. Before I knew about the app I would write down what the workout routine was for the week on a Post It and slap it on the treadmill. But that meant that I had to constantly look at the timer and so all that made me do was think about how much longer I had to go before I could stop. My friend Tamara suggested the app and it is awesome!! It has all the workouts in it and lets you choose from 3 different trainers. I picked the Jillian Michaels style trainer. The app lets you import whatever music you want from your phone. You just hit start workout and that’s it. Your trainer will let you know when it’s time to jog and walk. No more staring at the timer. This has helped me a ton!! Thanks TamaraJ This one is $1.99 but totally worth it. The only downside for me is the fact that it only has 3 workouts per week. You can repeat a workout but it will only track 3 a week.
The scale has finally moved!! I have lost some more weight – I will give you the full run down on Wednesday my official weigh dayJ

Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming
Just keep swimming – just keep swimming. No I have not started swimming. Anyone who has seen Finding Nemo knows what I’m
talking about.
Four and a half years ago I
started the job that I currently have. I
had just moved to Colorado to be closer to my mom but also to start a new
career path. Before I moved to CO I lived in
Las Vegas and was a Retail Manager for M.A.C Cosmetics. Anyone that thinks just because I worked in
makeup I had a “fun” or “easy” job think again.
It was a lot of work you basically run your own business. And then there is the working with the public aspect. Women are not nice
all the time even when picking out something as simple as a lip gloss they can be mean, nasty, and just plain
rude. Now don’t get me wrong there were
plenty of customers that were nice and they are what get you though the day
when you are helping a bridezilla. The
whole point is that I needed to get out of retail. A good portion of my job was inventory management,
metric reporting, and managing a team. So
when I moved I was able to highlight those skills and jump into corporate America. I was very excited to finally (first time in
my life) have a job that was Mon-Friday, weekends and holidays off and work at
a place that did not have a food court. But
the excitement quickly wore off. This
was a whole new world and I had NO idea what I was doing. I would go home and cry to Joe telling him
that I have no idea what I have just gotten myself into. Now it just so happens that my sister works
for the same company but in a totally different department. She would help me
with what she could but because our jobs are so different there was only so
much she could do. About 2 months after
I started I was having a particularly bad day.
The kind of day where I felt like learning this job
was like learning how to rebuild a car engine (something that I know nothing
about) from a book but the book was in Japanese - FYI I cannot speak Japanese. My sister walks into my cube and places a stuffed Dory doll right next to
my computer. She says to me “just keep
swimming, just keep swimming”. I immediately
knew what she was talking about since I had seen Finding Nemo. Of course I start to cry (I'm a big sappy mess sometimes). It was so sweet and helped me so much. I’m not going to lie and tell you that at
that exact moment everything made sense and I loved my job - NOT.
This is not an ABC After School Special (if you grew up in the 80’s you
know what I’m talking about). But it did
help me realize that I was not the only one on the planet that ever had a new
job that was challenging to learn. If I
just keep trucking along every day will get a little better. And it did – until this past week. My dept has taken on a few new projects the
past couple of weeks and the stress has taken me back to those first few months
(ok who am I kidding –the first year – once again who am I kidding – the first
2 years) where I felt lost. I was
talking to my boss yesterday about this very thing and while I’m on the phone
with her I glance down on my monitor stand and see Dory and “Just Keep Swimming,
Just Keep Swimming” pops right back into my head. This too shall pass – it won’t be this hard
every week. And as stupid as I may sound
the Just Keep Swimming philosophy is something that I am going to use with my exercise,
diet, temper, mood, annoying dogs named Tiger, and the asshole that just cut me
off.
P.S. I started week 4 of C25K and eff me its hard but I got through it and I was so proud of myself this morning!! Just Keep Swimming!

I've Been Cheated
Laksjfpijaehglnlgn;dafjg – that is
my head banging against the keyboard.
Today was weigh day – F*%K you scale (aka dirty lying whore). I am so pissed – beyond pissed. I have been working my ass off since the
beginning of the month. Exercising 6
times a week and eating healthy. Last week I had a nice 2.4 pound loss. This week nada – the big fat zip – nothing –
zilch. Oh wait I take that back – I did
see the scale move but a 0.2 pound gain.
To anyone that has to deal with me today I already apologize for my mood!

Movin' On Up
Movin' on up – to the top – to a
deluxe apartment in the sky……You know you were singing alongJ I
moved up to level 3 on the C25K program today (check out the program here if you want
too) so I thought I’d give you a run (pun intended) down of what it
entails and my thoughts:
run jog for 3
minutes, what a wimp. But to me it’s a big
deal. In just a little under 2 more
months I should be able to run for 30 min without stopping.
- 5 min warm up walk – piece of cake
- Jog 90 sec – this is in the bag – I got this
- Walk 90 sec – wow this is easy
- Jog 3 min - This is actually not bad. I should just skip to week 9 and be done with it. I’m so bad ass
- Walk 3 min – I should really skip this level its WAY to easy
- Jog 90 sec – wow heart rate is still up there
- Walk 90 – double wow – heart is still moving
- Jog 3 min – Holy crap. What the hell am I doing. I need to go back to level 2. Maybe I made a mistake and I read the wrong week and I’m really doing level 4. Ya that’s it, that has to be it. No way should this be that hard
- Walk 3 min – death is upon me – I feel it coming. Before death comes make sure to check and see if this is actually the week 3 routine

Happiness Is
Today I have been in the best mood – not sure why. But I figure why question it and just go with itJ So I decided to make you all a list of things that made me happy today.
Happiness is:
- My Hunny – Joe is the best husband that any girl could ever ask for. He’s so sweet and caring. I can tell him anything and be my totally dorky self. He puts up with all my crap and moods and and and and…
- My dog Zoey – she was really sick a couple of weeks ago. She actually collapsed in front of me and had a seizure. I FREAKED out. She is definitely part of the family and I am not ready for her to go to doggy heaven. She is on new medicine and feeling much better
- Skinny caramel lattes – if you haven’t tried one go to Starbucks now. You will want lick the foam out of the inside of the empty cup. I may or may not have done that. I’ll leave you to wonder
- The weather todayJ It was only around 70 today. Finally a day that is not in the 90’s or 80’s. This year has been way too hot. – like Vegas hot. Blah!
- Eyelash extensions. I got lash extensions 3 weeks ago and tonight I went in for a fill. Love them! It’s so nice to not have to put mascara on or take it off. Its also really nice that when I wake up I don’t look like I belong in Night of the Living Dead
- Friday Date Nights. Tonight we went to El Padrino its one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. I did awesome on my diet in case you were wondering. I had maybe 5-6 chips and ordered chicken and shrimp fajitas. I order the fajitas to get the grilled meat. I did not touch the rice, beans, tortillas, sour cream, or the cheese. I only ate half of the meat and brought the rest home
- The fact that I actually have had will power for an entire week to eat well and exercise 6 days in a row. This is rare. Normally when on a diet I am looking for ways to get out of eating healthy and em, um, watch exercise DVD’s.

Where Exercise DVD’s Go To Die
I hurt my foot jogging over the long weekend – not sure what’s up?!? So last night I still wanted to work out and got the bright idea to go look in the dreaded exercise DVD drawer. I have a drawer where all good exercise videos go to die. I’m assuming that most of you have a drawer, shelf, bag with cement blocks attached ready to dump in the lake mafia style, cabinet, or closet filled with exercise DVD’s. All claiming that they will get you into shape, make you skinny, make your life better, get you a promotion, make you rich, give you a magic unicorn. Ok maybe not that extreme. But at some point we all bought into their promises and over the years acquired multiple DVD’s. For the most part if you are diligent about using the DVD’s and staying on some kind of healthy eating plan you will get into shape and you will get skinny – no false advertising there. Problem is – or at least it is with me – that I was hoping that the healthy/skinny part would work by osmosis. Doesn’t just buying them count? HAHAJ
Contents of the CEMETERY drawer:
P90X – haven’t tried yet. A friend had 2 copies of it and let me buy one for like $20. So I don’t feel too bad that I have not used it. I am thinking that I need to bust this one out pretty soon.
Hip Hop Abs – I’m a firm believer that the right music can really motivate you to keep going. So I was excited when I got this DVD. But the excitement didn’t last long. All the “hip hop” music is some super lame version of elevator music – a fact they conveniently leave out of the infomercial.
Turbo Fire – I did try this one but never got past the 1st DVD (there are over 10). The lady, I think her name is Chalene (super skinny, blonde, cute, blah blah blah), is all smiles jumping up and down in a frenzy (all 95 pounds of her) yelling “you’re not tired”. Wanna bet?!? It's actually a really good program but when I was huffing and puffing just to get through the first workout I wanted to punch Chalene every time she said that crap about not being tired.
Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred - I bought this DVD a couple of years ago and I watched it. Yes I just admitted that I watched an exercise DVD instead of actually working out to it. I think watching it scared me into not ever wanting to use it.
Drum roll……….I picked Jillian Michaels’s 30 day shred. I figured I’d know what to expect thanks to previewing it 2 years ago and its only 20/25 minutes - how hard it can be? It can’t be harder than jogging. Think again my friends. It has 3 levels and you start with level one and do that one for a week or until you can move up to the next level. I curse Jillian Michaels today. My thighs are still a little shaky when I go up and down stairs. Ok they are a bit more than shaky – they are SORE. So sore that I have to put my hands down on the toilet seat so I can brace myself before I sit down, its quite a sightJ She is no joke when she says “you want it in 20 minutes – you’re gonna work for it”. That was right about the time I said to myself “Self – you are amazingly out of shape”. But I am glad that I did it and will continue to do it on the days that I do not jog. Maybe alternate between jogging and Jillian. I have a feeling that it will take me longer than 30 days to get through all 3 levels. I recommend this DVD for anyone that wants to work out a bunch of different muscle groups at the same time or if you are a masochist.
I was able to jog tonight so I guess I have a date with Jillian tomorrowJ

She..Could..Go..All..The..Way......
Since football season is upon us
and I’m in a fantasy football league (what have I gotten myself into) I started
thinking about in zones, touchdowns, super bowls…..you see where I’m going with
this?!? Anywho – I have goals but I
haven’t really put any kind of deadline on them. Could never really see the in zone so to speak. Ok I’m gonna be real……for 20+ years I have
“wanted to lose weight”. But I have
never said I want to lose 20 pounds by December 25, 2012, then 40 by my
birthday March 22, 2013. Well I guess I
just did. I am putting this in writing
and telling all of you to help keep me accountable. I'll post pics every 10 pounds I lose - EEK and GASP. That is not going to be pretty. And those that know me know how much I hate
pics that look bad. This is a BIG step for
me! As I type that I am kinda freaking
out. In fact you can't tell but I have been debating deleting the part about posting pics for over 2 hours. I mean putting pics on the internet
that will be ridiculed and laughed at – not so sure that is a good idea. But….sigh….maybe it’s what I have to do to
get serious.
Yes I realize that I talk about weight, exercise, and dieting a lot. Well it’s my party and I’ll write what I want too. If you’re bored don’t read it. If you do happen to love my charm and humor (can you detect my sarcasm - hehe) would you please follow me on this site? As of now I only have 4 followers soooo it would be cool to see how many of you actually read this. You just click on the button “join this site” on the right of the page - very simpleJ You can follow by email but I can’t see you as a follower. If you ask me that is extra lame sauce but I didn’t create the site. I promise to write about all kinds of other things tooJ those that know me know that I have an opinion about everything. I won’t write about politics or religion. That just opens up a giant can of [insert the worst thing you can think of]. I'd rather clap with a giant pile of dog crap in my hands. Feel free to comment on my posts and let me know what you think!
On another note - hope you all had a good weekendJ Mine was very relaxing. Joe worked on his car ALL ALL ALL ALL ALL ALL ALL weekend and when he wasn't working on his car he was mowing the lawn. We have a pretty ginormous yard so mowing and trimming takes like 4 h0urs. I almost felt like I was single again. I read, watched a Sex in the City marathon, and did some laundry. I could totally get use to staying at home and not working. Come to think of it weight loss would be so much easier in my opinion. Wake up, work out, take the dogs for a walk, tan (don’t judge), research healthy recipes, and spend 2 hours cooking said healthy recipes. Instead I have only about 4 hours after work to cook, cleanup, exercise, create a awesome blog post for you J, read and/or watch TV before its time to get ready for bed to start the next day all over again. Those of you that have kids I have no clue how you do it. I toast to you for sure! Just having a husband and 2 dogs is a handful! Not complaining just an observationJ

Things you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask…..
Ok not really…..but I did jog again this morning and while I was wishing for my stunt double to come rescue me I was thinking about last night’s blog post and how incredibly boring it was. But what stuck in my mind was that I told you guys that the biggest reason I hate jogging is because I secretly wish I was awesome at it. It got me thinking that there are probably some other fun facts that you may not know about me –things that I’m sure that you have laid awake at night wondering – ha!
Fun facts:
1. I hate sci-fi anything (sorry mom). I have no desire to see Avitar. I know that I’m probably the only person on the planet that has not seen it but blue alien people things?!? I’ll take Bridesmaids or Sex and the City any day
2. My mom loves sci-fi. If aliens came down and made a movie with some giant sea monster and did it on a planet where there were bugs that ate your brain my mom would be first in line to see it
3. I have never seen an episode of the Jersey Shore – nor do I ever ever ever want too
4. This may offend some of you but I HATE Lady GaGa. I mean COME on – meat dress?? All of her songs sound exactly the same and she releases a new one every 3 days. Stupid.
5. I love Tigger from Winnie the Poo
6. My boobs showed up when I was 10 – and big ones - training bras were not gonna cut it. Try hiding those bad dogs when you’re still in elementary school.
7. I have had plastic surgery (more than once) and fully endorse anyone doing it. I mean if you are unhappy with something and it can be fixed why sit and be depressed about it.
8. I hate roller coasters
9. I actually have been camping (pause for shock and awe, lol) and I mean REAL camping the kind where you sleep on the ground with no running water. I’ve also been at a “nice” camp ground that had running water and showers. Um if the water is cold and the floor is dirty I’m not stepping into the bathroom so it might as well not had running water. I’ve also camped at Yosemite national park in canvas cabin that had cots. You had to put all of your stuff that had any scent to it in a metal locker thing so bears would not smell it and eat your face off. I saw a bear on that trip about 50 feet from our “cabin” I ran inside and locked the tiny metal latch on the canvas door –cause that will definitely keep out a bear – HAHA! In the brochure that you get when you get there it says to be prepared to hear shotgun blasts at night. It’s the park rangers scaring bears away. I heard them every night I was there. It sucked. If that is a selling point to their park they might want to think about taking that fun fact out of the brochure.
10. If I make a sandwich and put mayo and mustard on it the cheese CANNOT touch the mayo.
11. Dusk is my favorite time of day
12. I’m obsessed with waffles. I hardly ever eat them but they are an almost perfect food. There are not a lot of foods out there that have built in syrup holders
13. I love the smell of matches
14. It’s a Wonderful Life is my favorite movie
15. I think that watching baseball was invented as a torture – it will bore you to death. Nine innings of the same same same same same same same thing. No fights, no tackles = Boring
16. Right behind baseball is watching golf. Good rule of thumb for a sport is if the commentators have to whisper the sport is boring
17. I’m sure there are many interesting things about me that you are dying to know but I will leave you with this……..This is how awesome I look after working out – YIKES!!
